Hair Growth Phases

Anagen Phase
The anagen phase is the active phase of the hair, where new hairs are formed and club hairs (those that are no longer growing) are pushed out. Throughout this phase, your hair will grow around 1 cm every 28 days, and growth in this phase can last anywhere from 2-6 years.

Catagen Phase
The catagen phase is transitional, where hair growth stops and club hairs (those that are no longer growing) begin to form.

Telogen Phase
The telogen phase is the ending of the hair growth cycle, where club hairs are fully formed and begin shedding. It is normal for you to shed around 25-100 hairs a day during this phase.
Having a short anagen phase can result in difficulties growing your hair beyond a certain length. In order for optimum hair growth to occur, your hair needs to stay in the anagen phase for as long as possible and be healthy and strong enough to avoid excess shedding in the telogen phase. This is where S&L Natural and Organic Hair Care comes into play! Our hand-made, organic oil blends are specially formulated to support hair health during the anagen (growth) phase by increasing blood flow to the scalp, delivering vital nutrients, and clearing clogged follicles. In the telogen (resting/shedding) phase, they help moisturize, strengthen, and prevent breakage.
